Welcome to the meetup home for developers of all skill-levels.
Everybody's welcome, everyone's invited, everyone will take something home from our meetups. Our meetups are not your usual "experts talk, audience listens" kind of experience but a community driven meetup that embraces a knowledge exchange culture as well as a strict "nice to have you here"-attitude.
Is anyone still running software on bare metal in 2020? Since the term "cloud computing" has been coined more than a decade ago, a lot has happened: from virtualized hardware, the arrival of DevOps culture and infrastructure as code, containerized workload deployments up to container orchestration with Kubernetes and the cloud native movement - distributed computing is the defacto standard for deploying, controlling, maintaining and scaling applications on any stage of the development process.
Our upcoming 6th session of coding.earth will focus exactly on that: we're going to talk about deploying to the cloud.
Following our last session's format, meetup number 6 will be opened by an inspirational talk by (Bastian Hofmann on provisioning K8S using Rancher).
The talk will lead us into a ~30 minutes expert panel discussion (thank you, root360 for dispatching Andreas Ulm). Afterwards everybody is invited to openly join and contribute to the discussion and ask any question.
If you feel expertish in that field and you'd like to see your name blink on our official panelist (!), don't hesitate to get in touch with us: we'll happily reserve a seat for you!
Isn't it amazing how many technologies, languages and tools to know in modern software development? Be it blockchains for storing transactions, machines taking decisions based on digital learning sets, virtual cloud instances providing computing power for scaled applications and command line tools that improve your workflow: it's nearly impossible to keep track of everything.
Here we jump in: Instead of specialising on a dedicated topic, coding earth was established to become a space for earth's coder community: every development related topic is welcome here, every developer with any skill level will take away something new on every session, every question may be asked and everyone should have a good time. There's only one golden rule:
We are looking forward to your ideas for upcoming meetups. If you want to share any of your knowledge with a highly motivated community, this is the right place. If you want to demonstrate a software stack that you're using in your startup, this is the place to present. If you seek for an opportunity to spread the evangelism of the next big programming language: give a talk at coding earth. We're embracing every technology and personality and we're just waiting for you.
